Cultivating Daily Positive Thoughts To Change Your Life
Mahatma Gandhi said: "A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes." Can thought really change your actions and your life? Can you really transform your entire existence for good just by using our goal setting software or by thinking positive thoughts or happy thoughts or even inspirational motivational thoughts and quotes? In terms of attracting physical conditions or phenomena into your life, the answer is unquestionably no. Changing your thoughts will give you an increased chance of taking the action which will lead to long term physical change, but to give magical properties to thought is clearly preposterous. Thoughts that create through the power of faith in God are spoken out loud and these have the power to transform and create and heal.
Changing negative or destructive thought patterns such as constant naughty thoughts, dirty thoughts or obsessive thoughts is not as easy as changing a roll of toilet paper. The toilet paper roll will not resist you, but the subliminal or subconscious mind will strongly resist any attempt to change the fundamental patterns which have been with it for so long. Remember, the primary postulate of the subconscious mind is the survival of the organism itself, and whatever has happened to you in your life, you have survived. To the subconscious, that is at least a partial victory.
When you start to make changes to your thought patterns the subconscious mind will strongly resist. You should be gentle and persistent to overcome the stubborn subconscious mind. If you can daily recite your target list of positive affirmations, or have them recited from a recording, using a soft voice and relaxed intonation, you can persuade the subconscious mind that the instructions do not constitute any kind of threat. If you can also be persistent enough to wear down the defenses which have been erected, you will eventually see happy and positive thoughts replacing the negative thought patterns.
Replacing dirty thoughts, naughty thoughts, suicide thoughts and obsessive thoughts with happy thoughts, positive thoughts and inspirational motivational thoughts requires a lot of work speaking out daily positive affirmations designed specifically for the problem you are trying to change. Eventually, the subconscious mind will come to realize that the powerful healing affirmations are safe, and also that they are actually in the long term interests of the survival of the organism. At this point, the subconscious mind swings round to be completely on your side. So, yes, thoughts can change your life, at least in this way.
The transition from positive thoughts, happy thoughts, and inspirational motivational thoughts to an actual change of your actual physical circumstances requires even more effort using your target list of daily positive affirmations. While affirmations and visualization are very useful tools for getting your mental state right, there is a lot more which you will need to add. You will need desire, determination, and consistent action in order to realize the goals you have set for yourself. Thoughts can certainly help you to change your life, but they won't change it for you. Always remember what it will really take the next time someone says just read the book: “Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life.”
